My grandmother spent her life cleaning houses for wealthier families. She never complained—just worked, quietly and with pride. It wasn’t until much later I realized what she gave me: humility, perspective, and a work ethic that shaped my life. We all come from somewhere. And that origin story matters.
This reminded me of one of my favorite sayings: "check in on your strong friends." You just don't know where somebody is or what they are going through, and sometimes those who seem to be thriving are struggling the most.
I recently watched a Gilda Radner interview where they asked her what it felt like to fall in love with Gene Wilder. The answer was like nothing I had ever heard, the way she put the power of love into action.she said it felt amazing, she couldn’t sleep, she felt lighter, colors were brighter, she had no aches and pains, etc. She said if we could only activate this power towards people just think of the benefit all from love! The interview was on You tube if you want to check it out because it sounds like the direction you’re trying to move the dial.
